Svanholm International (Tru-Stone Plant)
Coolidge, AZ

This pre-engineered metal frame building, located on a 20-acre site, has a 2,500 SF office area with the balance as production area. The process consists of mixing sand and gypsum with water to form a slurry which is mixed with alumina sulphate and water, and formed in large block molds. The temperature of the slurry and water mix is controlled by piping through chilled water and steam heat exchangers. The molds are cut to the specified block size and cured in large steam autoclaves using steam at 10t psi. Cooled steam condensate and mold flush water are recycled in the process. The project was designed but not constructed.

Owner: Svanholm International
Size: 135,000 SF
