![]() Lindbergh Field Airport Expansion San Diego International Airport San Diego, CA This
project was part of the Port District's Immediate Action Plan (IAP) to expand the San
Diego Airport. This expansion involved a new 8-gate terminal, Concourse F (approximately
320,000 SF), power distribution system upgrades, and parking lot and roadway improvements.
In addition to design development, LSW Engineers conducted an extensive
Hardy-cross analysis of the greater airport area's water distribution to verify the
adequacy of the proposed system improvements. A second phase of this work included
negotiations with the local utility to minimize the substantial water/sewer connection
fees. LSW Engineers served as liaison with the electric utility to negotiate preferred and
alternate feeder options and to determine cost and operations impacts. LSW Engineers also
provided liaison service to the telephone utility to provide the telephone duct bank and
manhole system for the new fiber-optic and copper trunks to service the airport.
