This
22-acre complex is undergoing a five-phase, 100,000 SF expansion program and
includes a new central plant. LSW is acting as a subconsultant for the
hospital expansion and acted as the prime consultant for the utility master
plan and central plant. The plant provides 1,200 tons cooling, a 36,000 -pph
steam boiler plant, and 2.0 MW of emergency power.
The emergency power generation
system features two diesel generators with paralleling equipment and
switchgear located in the central plant. To comply with the residential
neighborhood's ambient sound criteria, the cooling towers are equipped with
inlet and discharge sound attenuation. The towers use variable frequency
drives for capacity control.
