Fleet Hospital Operations and Training Command
Marine Corps Air Station, Camp Pendleton
Oceanside, CA

The command, situated on a 23-acre compound, is comprised of temporary facilities, tents, ISO containers and two World War II-era SEAHUTS. The facilities were inadequate for effective and efficient communication and workflow. The buildings had temporary HVAC systems that were difficult to regulate. The purpose of this project was to consolidate administrative and training facilities to optimize operational effectiveness. The design was for a permanent facility with steel frames and concrete masonry, as well as associated support facilities. The project included administrative spaces, a computer classroom, a conference room, lavatories, and properly configured readiness training facilities. Long distance learning using on-site video teleconferencing training (VTT) was also accommodated.

Owner: U.S. Navy, SWDIV
