The
purpose of this industrial process audit was to reduce energy consumption,
water use and operating costs, as well as to increase production through more
effective capacity utilization. A number of specific measures were identified
during two (2) one-week on-site charette/audits and subsequently analyzed for
government funding requests. The cope of the measures ranged from easily
implemented personnel or procedural modifications to large-scale capital
improvements. In-depth evaluations were performed on 194 of the more than 500
measures assessed. The final recommended measures were projected to yield
$12,000,000 in annual operating cost saving for a capital investment of
$25,000,000.
