Landing Craft Air Cushion Facility (LCAC ACU-5)

LSW Engineers provided M/P/E Consulting; planning and engineering services under P-957 including Parametric Estimating and Programming (PEP) data, design, and preparation of plans and specifications. Other services included value engineering, field investigations, field surveys, sub-surface investigation and an energy conservation study.

Services were performed in accordance with the A/E Guide for Architect-Engineering Firms Performing Services for the Department of the Navy, DD Form 1391, and in general conformance with the Base Exterior Architecture Plans (BEAP) for the bidding and construction of:

  • 25,000 SF new LCAC Maintenance Bay
  • 5,000 SF Maintenance Support Building
  • 4,000 SF air-conditioned classroom & shower expansion
  • 25,000-gallon dome-roof steel fuel tank
  • Twenty-one (21) fixed point utility pits to provide aircraft start-up services (480V, 400 Hz, 120/208 3-phase services)
  • New approach ramp lighting
  • Mitigation for settling of existing fuel tank
  • Addition of fire sprinklers and fire alarm annunicators to all structures
  • Parking lot lighting (200 vehicles)
